BISHOP IS A GREEK WORD  FOR ELDER WHOSE WORK IS TO ASSIST THE PASTOR.

The term 'Bishop' is a Greek word connotes Elder. This elder implies the maturity in the faith not just accumulation of years and grey hair. In the church Hierarchy, The Pastor is the Head of the church. There is no greater position above the pastor. He is Called and ordained to rule the church with the word of God.
Elders can be ordained to be assisting the Pastor in the church. Elders are sellected base on ITim. 3. In the absence of a pastor, an elder can be chosen to do the work of a pastor. The elder who rule in the church is called an overseer of the church. There is not such a term as General overseer in the Bible as every local assembly in the Bible days was othonomous.

When Rome murdered true Christian faith at Nicea, we suffered 2000 years of apostasy where a lie has become the way. History has detailed that it was after the death of the last Apostle that the Church of Rome forced all local assemblies into unity with pagan Roman belief system and made up the first church denomination. The Bishop (overseer) of  Rome was promoted to Arch Bishop and was made the supreme authority which would later become Pope meaning papa or father of the church and finally sitted on the throne of Caesars when pagan Rome was changed to papacy. Through out the ages, the reformers could not restore the original faith (lost at Nicea) so they too dwelled on leadership principle of the Roman church. Today even among the Pentecostal organizations which we should think have little light above Catholics still make Bishop supreme authority above the Five fold ministry. Their Bishop too carries staff and wears  mitre, a symbolism of Babylon Religion. Have you ever wondered that Nimrod was the first priest to dagoon god who dressed like that? In philistial language dagoon means Fish. Fish was a deity in the ancient Babylon. The mitre is the emblem of fish. That is why it has a wide opening at the pointed top signifying a head of a fish with an open mouth.
Today are days of Joel 2:25 when original
faith was promised to be restored. According to Zachariah 14:7, light will be restored again in the evening time. So let's walk in the light as it's shining on the path to glory.
